What is the purpose of the Pastern Straps?
The pastern straps on Scoot Boots are designed to help prevent the boot being pulled of the hoof via overreaching or sucked off going through mud. Although not intended to be the main security strap, the pastern strap is designed to stretch when placed under load, keeping the boot secure in less then ideal terrains! Made from a very strong TPU with a number of holes to ensure a good fit depending on your horses pastern width – you can be confident the strpa wont rub or affect your horse’s pasterns.
How should the Pastern Strap be secured?
Make sure your horse is standing upright, square and with his hooves flat on the ground. Secure the pastern strap so that you can place one large finger or 2 small fingers under the straps at the front of the pastern.
